The compressed air moves to the cooling chamber for the direct cooling by low pressure refrigerant at temperature of 12 degree Celsius. Before going through low pressure plates for further cooling at sub zero temperatures viz -165 to -170 deg C, the air is purified for removing hydrocarbons, carbon dioxide and moisture using twin molecular sieve driers. Using the difference in the liquification points of nitrogen and gas, the remaining mixture passes through a rectification chamber for obtaining pure oxygen and nitrogen gas that can be safely filled in containers and pipe lines.
